Hector Lopez A drumming force around New York City and its surrounding communities, Hector Lopez has played with many bands, has sat in on many sessions, and has been an integral part of many musical projects; all consisting of various types of music. He paradiddles his way from one side of the drumming spectrum to the other: Rock? No sweat…Jazz? Piece-za-cake. Funk? Check…Fusion? Cakewalk. Listen very closely and you can pick up hints of Mike Portnoy, Vinnie Colaiuta, Neil Peart... Hector Lopez is now drumming his heart out on the "Second Chance" CD. Celestial Oeuvre had been
looking for a drummer who could handle the maddening time signatures layered
throughout the album. Also, a drummer that had great independent vision. Hector
had both of these qualities, and fit the bill to a tee. He is a drummer who can
sight read if necessary and can wing it when he has too. The man is equally comfortable on a standard set of drums as he is
on an electronic drum kit such as
the “V” drums. He can always lay back and groove on his sound or he can
perform very complex parts when the need arises. Celestial Oeuvre couldn’t be
more content for having such a talented musician involved in their project. Hector
Lopez is definitely an asset.
