Joe Nardulli
Joe Nardulli plays lead
guitar on the CD “Second Chance”. Celestial Oeuvre
count themselves very fortunate to have found such a great guitarist to
participate on their debut CD! Raised on a steady diet of Frank
Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, et al; (Joe's parents' music) was all his ears
had been accustomed to. It was all he heard, until that fateful day when
"The Immigrant Song" (by Led Zeppelin) captured his attention, snapped
his head back, and made him exclaimed, "What is this?!?!"
It's been almost a quarter century since then and those riff-laden Jimmy
Page tunes still turn him on today. Moving
on to more adventurous music as he got older, Joe Nardulli discovered and settled
into a progressive-rock/fusion listening mode which was enhanced and fueled by
his passion for composing on the guitar as well. Till this day, “Rage For
Order” by Queensryche is one of his all time favorite albums.
Uninspired and unfazed by
the nominal years of guitar lessons he’d taken,
the bulk of his music education came from listening to his favorite players, including but not
limited to: Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve
Morse, but to mention a handful. Life
happened, and music took a back seat to school and family. His priority was
commendable. However, Joe opted to spend most of his limited practice time
writing songs instead of practicing the instrument.
He explains, "The compositions dictate my playing style; it's
working on songs and melodies that I really love to do and that, in turn, shapes
my guitar playing and technique."
Born, raised and still living in Queens, NY, Joe Nardilli played in a
couple of vocal oriented progressive rock bands in the late eighties/early
nineties. The typical politics of
being in a band and having difficulty finding good people to play with lead him
to find solace in writing instrumental tunes with a sequencer backing his guitar
playing. He aspired to putting
together a live band to bring his material to life. The Joe Nardulli Band did
just that.
An engineer by profession, he has realized his dreams of being a
full-time husband and father to his wife and two daughters, while sitting in his
home studio writing and listening to his favorite music.
He adds, "I would also love to perform live as often as
possible." Joe's first CD was
completed in the summer of 2003 and the Joe Nardulli Band formed in the summer
of 2004. You can visit Joe Nardulli's web site at: http://www.joenardulli.com/
He is now part of “Second
Chance” and his guitar playing, true to form, is nothing short of
mind-boggling.
