Jose Damien A
multi-instrumentalist, who plays Keyboards, bass, electric/acoustic guitars, and
sings background vocals. This prodigious
musician co-wrote and arranged the body works on the CD second chance in its
entirety. Jose Damien is an Emmy nominated musician that
has been involved with many different bands throughout his music career---from
rock, to disco, to modern Gaelic. He was influenced
by many different artists. He chooses not to call them artists, and prefers
calling them his heroes! An
interesting side note about one of the songs on the Second Chance CD Jose
Damien met Joe Acaba and Charlie De Jesus around 1975.
Joe and Charlie were the founding members of the band "Demian". As he tells it,
Joe and Charlie were two of the most important musical influences in his life. During that time, Joe and Charlie had written a song called
"Touch", which was never recorded, and was all but forgotten!
But not by Jose Damien. He felt the song "Touch" was so
beautiful, he was compelled to memorize it. He held on to that memory for almost
30 years. He argued strongly that
the song should be resurrected. The song is now part of the CD. As a tribute to
Charlie De Jesus, Jose Damien plays the entire guitar solo on "Touch"
note for note as Charlie De Jesus conceived it and played it thirty years ago
back in 1975! God certainly has a sense of humor.
