Zeitgeist
Tick,
tick, tick, time keeps ticking written in the pages
Tick, tick, tick, time slips in the rhythm of the ages
Tick, tick, tick, time within the Spirit of the Age is…
Time flies! Ghosts of Time
In every life there’s a moment time
Where there’s a freeze, a rip in the timeline
With bated breath ingesting events
That changes everything mothers invented
The spirit of the age
Where
zeitgeists held the page
For the hearts and minds of man
Living for the day
A Zeitgeist never fades
I still
remember when Camelot mourned
When Beatlemania took me by storm
When Voodoo Child desisted and ceased
And ’69 close the advent of (love &) peace
The King died on the throne
The Walrus walked alone
And My Sweet Lord took Georgie home
While Ol'-Blue-Eyes grew old
A Zeitgeist never folds
Indochina
kept our mind off
Those who said you’ll never find us
Grieving for the ones who died in vain
Monterey
and
Woodstock
raging
Peacefully in global staging
Spirit of communal hearts were free, in peace…and joy…
“Joy to the World”
(when Jeremiah was a bullfrog!...)
(
Penny Lane
was in my ears and in my eyes…)
Get in
line, your Zeitgeist will define your life, in time
(in a moment in time)
The
Towers broke my heart as they fell (Nine-One-One)
But a resilient spirit indwelled in all of us
Each era has its demons to tame
The past is gone, yet still it remains the same
The
spirit of the age
Where zeitgeists held the page
For the hearts and minds of man
Living for the day
A Zeitgeist never fades.
(Tick
tock, tick tock, a Zeitgeist give us the gift of all our memories)
Get in line, your Zeitgeist won’t deny you your moment in time Get in
line, your Zeitgeist will define your life, in time, in time…

Black
Flower
Scarlet
emotions
With wounds and scars that never heal
Displaced devotion
For things that never quite reveal
All of the notions
That stole away the life I owned
Now in an ocean sinking with a heart of stone
I’m a Black Flower
Isolated from the rest
Black Flower dying in the garden
Thirsting for water
While the roses drown in joy
Not in the order
Banished to a crushing void
Searching for sunlight
But the clouds will not recede
And in the moonlight
Shriveling back into a seed
I’m a
Black Flower
Bending to the weight of time
Black Flower paying with my own life
If a
stone begins to bleed
If a statue ever breathes
Or when tears turn into gems
I guess I live again
When the oceans finally drain
And the sands convert to rain
Or when the prism in the sky
Says, “Love again, or die,” I’ll try
(1st
Verse (Top))
I’m a
Black Flower
Bending to the weight of time
Black Flower paying with my own life
I’m a Black Flower
Isolated from the rest
Black Flower dying in the garden

Off The Rails
No more words...
Sun rises, a child will die
Another day goes, by and by
Moon glows, a child is born
Another night for life to form…
emotions; the answers; entranced by the cancer
the wonder; the suffering; the magical buffering
against the illusions of joy and the blessings
dressed up in misery’s magic caressing;
the mystery of history pressing you on,
while under the gun tears dry in the sun
The earth rotates on axis of pain
And no one can find the words to really explain…
The game of slavery we play
The stars so promising they offer up
A glimpse of hope
And daylight comes along and pins us up
Against the ropes
Causing the heart to fold
When a smile is offered
Hide it in your coffer
They’re few and far between, you know
True ones are rarely seen at all
Off the rails
If you see a soul that’s on the tracks
Grab on tight and don’t look back
Cross the trail
If you wanna hold on to your line
Don’t let insanity derail your mind…derail your mind
No more words but platitudes
Like empty hulls, no verse will do
No points of view will change the news,
Will change the truth we know, we knew
We’ve always lived our attitude to choose…
Causing our hearts to fold.
No more words but empty shells
Devoid of substance, what the hell…
You fall, you yell, you scream…oh, well
Oh well, so far as I can tell hells bells
my life’s a groundswell, self-propelled by pain
And nothing can change the course
Words leaves me at a loss…I’m
Off the rails
If you ask me to explain the whys
and wherefores of our lives defined
Cross of Nails
The closest thing that comes to mind
Approximating times and life of mine.
Off the rails… No more words...
Sun rises, another child will die
Another day goes, by and by
Moon glows, another child is born
Another night for life to form…
emotions; the answers; entranced by the cancer
the wonder; the suffering; the magical buffering
against the illusions of joy and the blessings
dressed up in misery’s magic caressing;
the mystery of history pressing you onward,
while under the gun tears dry in the sunlight
The earth rotates on its axis of pain
And no one can find the words to explain…

Courage
Take it
Place it in your heart and make it---
Flourish…Nourish it. Courage
Hold it...not by arms for carnal knowledge
Only feeds the flesh
Doesn’t give you rest
You reach in search for desperation
You call it love & affection to make the connection rise
---my, my…
Hold it, time is fleeting, you should know it
(Hold on to time--- And you will find)
(Hold on…time is fleeting. You should…know this, seeing…)
Every time you sigh, heaven comes alive
(That every time----The heaven dies)
(Sighing…time is feeling… Beaming on high by the light of heaven)
Crazy, what we think is love may well be courage
(Inside your mind---Remember why)
(Crazy…love’s amazing… May be…mirror’s fading)
A mirror image of yourself inside your own eyes
(You have those eyes---The mirror lies…)
(Image…Shaping, Shades of gray…Why in your eyes you’re still amazing)
We all externalize the world we yen for…
(---Externalize, internalize the reason why)
We search for door after door
(…Door after door’s when the one that’s before us holds)
When the one that’s before us holds the key we seek
(The key we seek……….)
That leads to laurels of many sorrows which turn into joy---
(Lead us to laurels---Of many sorrows…Joy---)
What’s life without introspection, comes by way of expectation
(What’s love without, it’s fair share of doubt)
Tell you why?
Know it…peaks and valleys often marry,
(Know love and peace---Will help you reach)
(Hold on…time is fleeting… You should…know this, seeing…)
Life is high and low…and so it goes. From yes to no
(The highest point ---That you can see…to peak)
(Sighing…time is feeling… Beaming on high by the light of heaven)
It’s crazy, what we think is love may well be---Courage!

To Be Alone
Little feet in summer heat running with pack
Hoping Spring’s eternal ‘cause I’m habitually looking back
(and that’s a fact…just like that)
One minute you’re a wild child
And the next you’re pushing forty-five
In love; engaged; espoused; divorced
What happened to this thing call “Life?”
Looking in…Looking out for yourself…
In the world that’s never ending
Play it up…play it down…play it all…
Play it out while you’re getting ready
Everyone sleeps alone….such is life…full of strife…
No need to carry on. Hurry on.
I hear voices calling me
Join me in the chamber…
Come and numb your dreams…all alone!
It’s enough to make one drink alone
When there’s no one there to bring along
And the eyes that never see your face
(…and the eyes see your face…)
As it were, transparent cellophane
(…as it were, cellophane…)
As you leave your feet, by the spirits easing your soul
To be alone
And the prophet on the mountain top
Holding in the tears about to drop
As he prophecies over the land
(…prophecy o’er the land…)
While he waves his hand as best he can
(…while he waves best he can…)
To invoke the peace, that is lacking east of the heart
That beats alone
And the queen is sleeping on her throne
While the king in chambers sits alone
All the royal treasures in the world
(…royal treasures in the world…)
Never seems nearly enough to quell
(…nary seems enough, oh, well)
When the scepter rips through the sacred crest of the home
You call your own
Chant
Not by searching the heavens (searching on…)
Nor is found in the depths of the oceans (in the depths…)
Even scaling the summit (scaling on…)
Won’t provide the release (…release)
In the end the earth will pass away
And for all we know the plan was laid
From the womb in transit to the tomb
For the aged up to the blinds of youth
That became the old, as the old grew cold as a stone
In dreams, alone (dream alone)
To be…or not to be…Alone (…all alone…)
That is the question

Riding The Brakes
I read the news today, oh boy…
The same old dance, the same old song
The pundits spin on CNN
The Right is wrong, the Left caves in
War-sport in multimedia, the terrorists will tease us
Epidemics come in waves while we go on riding brakes
The unilateral invasions
Judeo-Christians wake the nations
Same-sex nuptials weigh in
To redefine the rules of sin
The open minds of mother earth get buried in a ton of dirt
The voice of reason seems to be silenced by popular beliefs
Get up, time to awake
Let’s stop riding the brakes, riding the brakes, riding the brakes…
There’s to much at stake today
Get down, pick up the pace
Let’s stop riding the brakes, riding the brakes, riding the brakes…
There’s much too much at stake today for the human race to brake
When life gets rough, and issues tough
The mavericks don’t go far enough; call it par for the course…
The door gets lost.
The only ones who get the joke
Are satirists who bare the cross for the lost multitudes who never do...
Get it! Get it! Get it!...
I read the news today, oh boy…
About a man who had no choice
Exterminated all his kin
The trial was short; the verdict’s in…
Death by lethal injection, barbaric act in session
Legal homicides in spades; the foot of lead still on the brake
Get up, time to awake
Let’s stop riding the brakes, riding the brakes, riding the brakes…
There’s too much at stake today
Get down, pick up the pace
Let’s stop riding the brakes, riding the brakes, riding the brakes…
There’s much too much at stake today for the human race to brake
Riding the brakes…(Riding the brakes)…Riding the brakes

In The Water
Water voices…
Hear them calling
Choices haunt them…now
They don’t know why those ghosts
Bearing, staring, tearing at their souls
Lead them farther,
Deeply in the water
Cry out in desperation
No hears the cry of passion
The pathway of redemption
Is devoid of all compassion
And so the water voices
Load and clear make up the noises
Come now and join the others
That found peace immersed in the water
Peace at last
By a permanent solution, to a temporary past
Lives in chase of an idealistic face
The human race does not possess
So off they go to rest…to rest in the water
Sons & daughters find their peace in the deep…sleep.
Water voices…

Stones of Beauty
Whose lips are those like rubies?
Like a crimson rose inspires
Whose face conveys a set of eyes?
Like two emeralds alight
Whose skin reflects the colors
of thousand gems afire?
…You, it’s you, my love it’s you
Pure beauty to the eye
It’s you my love, and only you
Aglow in glory light
Diamond and Pearls…forever made
Prices to make one stand amazed
Sapphire, Bloodstone, Turquoise and Jade
Compared to you, they’re worthless rocks of ages
Was it claimed?
That the falling rains
Would eventually, eventually snuff out the flame
That was burning inside us both
Well, the claim wasn’t right
For the daylight ignited the darkness
With the loveliness of the sun
That stood high upon
Pillars made of everlasting Stones of Beauty
Shining brightly, ever surely…
Erasing the past, as fast…
As the present came at last for us to see

Second Chance
Who would ever believe…could ever conceive
the passage of time is but a rite
one has to transcend;
a means to an end,
to rise from the canvas when the
fight is heaping coals of fire
at your feet to see if you aspire,
re-engaged and dance to a second chance.
The conviction to fail is never detailed
at the commencement of your quest
to follow your call, evading a fall
Believing you’ll be among the best;
when everyone said, “died”,
you rose like Lazarus to realize
you’re engaged to dance with a second chance
The convict on death row pleads for mercy
The lover cries “Forgive my infidelity
The father to the son says, “I’m Sorry”
And every soul in pain is cutting deals with God.
Like all of the above,
Want a second chance…
If the first time around you manage to drown
your resuscitation lies ahead,
to follow your heart,
ascend from the dark
Believing you’ll be among the best;
when everyone said, “died”,
you rose like Lazarus to realize…
(we all have the strength inside
to emerge, to resurrect our lives…)
(when heaping coals of trial by fire
blazes the trail so we can ride the light…)
To engage and dance, dance, dance…dance to a second chance
Everyone deserves a second chance…so join the dance
Everyone of us deserves a second chance…so join the dance
Everyone!

Touch
When you touch me it’s like sensing the breeze of the sea
Flow throughout my living body
When I touch you the whole world seems move within reach
And no wish you make is to beyond me
Knowing you are mine makes the walk through Time
Seem worth while, the planet smiles
And you and I together will reach our isle…
Lost in forever la la la la… Touch
My love and my life, we’ll be in our own private paradise
And everyone one will know it
The sky and the view painted green, painted blue
By the mountainsides, And Heaven’s eyes will show it
All the mysteries will vanish, and the sun will shine
You can call it yours; you can say it’s mine
It doesn’t really matter, ‘cause it’s all the same
All the games we’ll play will carry our story to its universal end
When you touch me it’s like sensing the breeze
Flow throughout my mortal body
When I touch you the whole planet moves with ease
And no wish you make is to beyond me
Knowing you are mine makes the walk through Time
Seem worth while, the planet smiles
And you and I together will reach our isle lost in forever
Lost…in forever
Lost…Forever… in space and time…
Touch
